I've been in love with Linux ever since I met her in my undergrads.
My love of computers started when my parents bought me an Apple //c when I was a kid (10yo), so that I can train myself for chess competitions. I ended up giving up chess for programming. My love for Linux started when I was assembling my own computer in college. I tried to install Windows and it always froze up in the process. I had no clue about what was wrong. I was pretty sad as I had put in all the money I had and then some. My dad was beginning to wonder if I should have made a wise decision and bought a branded PC - though he was very supportive of my tinkering. I had just then bought a Slackware Linux book that came with a CD. The diagnostic messages (dmesg) pin pointed the problem to be with the RAM. I got that replaced and I had a fully functional geek friendly Linux PC.
I've talked numorous friends into switching to Linux. I helped run a LUG. I use Linux for my startup(s).
I hope to make new friends here who love Linux.
