IT Intern
DASHWIRE, one of the most exciting companies in the mobile-web Connected Services market, is growing and looking for an IT Intern to gain experience and help us build a network monitoring system. Dashwire has a cross platform solution that brings the mobile and web worlds together seamlessly for users to synchronize phone functionality and content, synthesize it in an easy to use private web app, and socialize it with friends through their favorite web sites. This position will let you run the entire life cycle of projects as well as handling day to day tasks. We are looking for roughly 25 hours per week, are extremely flexible, offer compensation, and are located in Fremont.

Projects
* Build a monitoring system and associated checks. Learn how to monitor a service, not just a port. * Build a file storage system. Exposure to LVM2, NFS and SMB. * Setup multiple WiFi networks. * Get IT experience. We are an office of OSX, Windows (XP,Vista,7), and Linux. * Work with developers to create an automated mobile client build system.
Qualifications
* Moderate Bash skills and knowledge of another scripting language (Python, Ruby, PHP, Perl, ...) * Linux administration / windows troubleshooting * VCS experience (SVN, Git, CVS, ... ) * Networking experience * Desire to help people and to learn
Bonus
* Experience with trending and NMS software (Nagios, Zenoss, Munin, Cacti, ... ) * Using RT * Configuration management (Puppet, CFengine, Bcfg2, ...) * Cobbler/Spacewalk/Satellite * Syslog-ng * Splunk!
